“Wine and Whiskey on Stone Street”

Peter and Harry Poulakakos, the family behind Harry’s Bar, will be opening up their latest venture on Stone Street this Wednesday, December 2nd. Vintry Wine & Whiskey will feature 80 wines by the taste, glass, or bottle, as well as a 350 bottle reserve list built off of Harry’s 50 years of wine collecting including older vintages like a 1983 Graud Larose Bordeaux from St. Julien, or rare selections like a Chambertin “Clos de Beze”  2001 Grand Cru Burgundy from Gelin or a Louis Michel Chablis “les clos” 2006 Grand Cru from Burgundy. Scottish, American, Japanese, Canadian and Irish Whiskies make up Vintry’s extensive whiskey selection.

Chef Joseph Mallol, Executive Chef of Harry’s Café & Harry’s Steak, has created a menu of small plates ranging from $6-$24: Knishes with smoked salmon and crème fraiche, lobster-stuffed mushrooms, veal meatballs, lamb spare ribs with tzatsiki, and tallegio and pear paninis as well as cheeses and charcuterie.

The restaurant has an intimate speakeasy-style with a 23-foot bar carved from the rare African redwood “flaming bobinga,” which seats 15. Tabletops created from Rainforest marble, known for its distinctive veining and fossilized appearance, are accented by steel stools with port colored leather seats. The back bar is accented by handcrafted maple “vines” that continue wrap the base of the main bar and are signature to the establishment.

Vintry Wine & Whiskey is located at 57 Stone Street, 212-480-9800.
