“From Lebanon with Love: L’ybane”

L’ybane keeps moving further and further west. This restaurant, specializing in Mediterranean and Lebanese cuisine, has a flagship location in Nice, France, and more recently, the New York outlet was located on the Upper East Side. Today, L’ybane has now found another new home in Hell’s Kitchen.

Owner and executive chef Al Rineh oversees a European wine bar and restaurant that seats 100, including 20 bar stools. There’s seating in the front and the spacious dining room in the back has a more intimate vibe with its soft red walls, exposed brick with rustic accents, vintage chandeliers and votive candles. The menu fits the ambience, too. A variety of cold and hot appetizers dot the menu and are served tapas style. Hummus ($4.75) or a vegetarian mousaka ($4.75) are available or you can try a combination of assorted appetizers to share ($15 per person).

On the entrée side, heavier and lighter dishes are among the choices, from the L’ybane burger ($12) served with a garlic mayo and steak au poivre ($28) to moules frites ($18) and shrimp penne ($14.75). The lunch menu also features a merguez harissa sandwich ($10.75) and a classic seared tuna nicoise ($10.75). An international wine list includes more than 50 wines and Champagnes. L’ybane is open every from noon to 2 a.m. Enjoy!

L’ybane is located at 709 Eighth Ave. (between 44th and 45th Streets), 212-582-2012, www.lybane.com.
