“Tartinery's Happy Hour”

French food has a reputation for being heavy and laden with buttery, creamy sauces. Tartinery, which opened in Nolita this spring, took a different road with its specialty in the Poilane bread (which is flown in from Paris). If you still don’t believe that French cuisine can go beyond servings of boeuf bourguignon or steak au poivre, how about just nibbling instead? Tartinery launches a “Tartine & Wine Hour” on August 4 for a daily 5 to 7 p.m. special. You get complimentary bites of petite tartines, proscuitto, saucission and selected cheeses. Selected glasses of reds, whites and rose are $7. Bon appetit!

Tartinery is located at 209 Mulberry St. (at Spring St.), 212-300-5838, http://www.tartinery.com/.
