“The Green Hour at Trestle on Tenth all March”

Beginning on Monday, March 5, in honor of National Absinthe Day, every hour is 'l'heure verte' (the green hour) at Trestle on Tenth. To celebrate, they will offer five wormwood cocktails, inspired by the flavor and allure of the historic, anise-flavored spirit.

Originating in Switzerland in the 18th century and made famous in France by bohemian artists like Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec and iconic writers like Ernest Hemingway, the 'green fairy' continues today in its most traditional form (as a drip, otherwise known as the French Method) - and also as a component of the city's most innovative libations. They will feature both 'takes' on absinthe, with names that pay tribute to its history.

Trestle on Tenth's Absinthe Cocktails include:

The Absinthe Drip

****

Sazerac: Kubler absinthe, Bulleit rye, Peychaud bitters, Demerara sugar

****

The Van Gogh: La Clandestine absinthe, No.3 gin, creme de violette, Dolin dry vermouth

****

White Elephants: Kubler absinthe, Bacardi, lime juice, grapefruit

****

Edgar Degas: La Clandestine absinthe, Kaluha, Grand Marnier, espresso

Trestle on Tenth's Absinthe Cocktails will be available through the end of March 2012. Call 212.645.5659 to make a reservation.
