“On Passover...in case you need a little (or a lot) of help”
Get your Seder Meal from Cobblestone Foods, 199 Court Street, between Wycoff and Bergen), 718-222-1661
Starting this Thursday, owner Jeremy Wachalter will be stocking his cozy takeaway shop in Cobble Hill with everything you need for your very own Seder. He’s making brisket of beef with dried apricots, prunes and spices or caramelized onions and braised vegetables, poached or grilled King salmon, rotisserie chicken, Long Island Duckling and Turkey, along with chopped liver, honey-roasted carrots, potato kugel, charoset, and even Shmura Matzo from Williamsburg. For dessert, he’s got chocolate covered macaroons, flourless brownies, and something wild and wonderful called caramel matzo and chocolate crunch. To place your order (by Wednesday please), call Jeremy at 718-222-1661.
Mexican Passover at Toloache 251 West 50th Street (bet. Broadway & 8th Aves.), 212-581-1818.
Toloache’s Chef Julian Medina converted to Judaism when he married his wife, and from April 19th through the 26th, he’s presenting his take on a Passover menu, celebrating the exodus from Egypt Mexico City style. He’ll serve his Matzo Tostada ($13)—a “Yucatan” crispy Matzo tortilla layered with achiote-smoked white fish salad, “Yucatan style” horseradish, and habanero red onion salsa, and Tacos de Brisket ($9)—chipotle braised brisket filled Matzo tortillas topped with avocado red onion and chipotle salsa, along with roasted hibiscus chipotle glazed halibut ($26) with Passover cauliflower pancakes. Margaritas, of course, will be served too. Just remember to order an extra one for Elijah. Rumor is, he prefers them to the Manschevitz, so he may actually show up.
Meats from Le Marais
Le Marais, the classic Glatt Kosher French boucherie, will deliver your Passover pot roast to your door. For the holiday, Chef Jose Meirelles is offering traditional lamb roast, lamb shoulder, rack of lamb, lamb chops and crown roast, in addition to his regular supply of beef, chicken, and duck. The restaurant is also open throughout the holiday for those looking to dine out. Le Marais is located at 150 West 46th Street, (212) 869-0900.

Brisket on Wheels from Hill Country, 30 West 26th St, between 6th Ave and Broadway; 212-255-4544
Passover for many of us means matzoh brei, matzoh ball soup, and brisket. If you’re looking to spice up your Seder table, get your brisket from Hill Country this year. In celebration of the Seder meal, they’re offering their untrimmed, whole, pit-smoked briskets (averaging 7-9 pounds each) for pick-up and delivery at $20 a pound.
Orders and delivery requests should be placed 48 hours in advance and require a $50 deposit. Delivery will be available throughout Manhattan with a $20 delivery charge between 14th and 42nd Streets and 3rd and 9th Avenues. There is a $40 delivery charge outside of that designated area. Orders can be made by calling the take-out department (255-4544) or by downloading a form from the website www.hillcountryny.com and faxing it to the restaurant. Re-heating instructions will also be provided.
