“Barrio set to open in Park Slope!”

Chef Adrian Leon (Rosa Mexicano, Zocalo, Zona Rosa) and restaurateur Spencer Rothschild (Rain, Calle Ocho, BLT Prime, Yushi) will open Barrio—a cool, casual Mexican joint serving margaritas, tacos, and more on Monday April 21st on Park Slope’s Seventh Avenue. The restaurant will remain in preview mode until April 30th, offering 15% off your entire bill (including booze).

The menu, which covers a variety of regions, sounds like this: black bean and sweet plantain empanadas with Oaxacan cheese and tomatillo salsa ($6,95), Queso Fundido in a traditional fondue set with rajas poblanas, mushrooms and homemade warm tortillas ($8.50), shrimp ceviche with crunchy jicama, chipotle chilies and fresh lime ($9.75), Puebla pork tenderloin with corn flan and finished in a chili arbol peanut mole ($16.75), and an open-faced chicken enchilada in charred morita salsa ($14.25). There are also Platos del Dia like short rib enchiladas (Thursday) and Yucatan achiote tuna on Tuesdays.

At the bar, you’ll find watermelon, tamarind, and prickly pear margaritas, along with sangria, a nice list of Mexican beers and a wine list that covers Spain and South America.

Barrio is located at 210 Seventh Avenue (corner of 3rd Street), 718-965-4000 and will be open 7 days for lunch and dinner beginning on Monday April 21st.
