“Luxe Desserts on Clinton Street”

Replacing Chubo on Clinton Street is Luxee, a lovely new dessert café run by an all-Japanese staff from Tokyo, and headed up by pastry chef Yoshie Shirakawa, who’s been in the industry since she was 18.

Luxee aims to use natural and organic ingredients to create desserts that “are healthy and good for your body,” according to manager Rie Tange. This means vegetarian and vegan menus will be served along with intricately plated French style desserts. The restaurant will serve seasonal desserts accompanied by light savory items during lunch and brunch. During dinnertime, there will be a tasting menu. More information to come.

Luxee will open August 8th at 6 Clinton Street (bet. Stanton and E Houston).
