“Ice Cream You Scream at The General Greene”
Nick Morgenstern, the chef and owner (and the man behind the brilliant ham and gruyere bread pudding) of The General Greene is launching a fresh summer treat: The Greene Ice Cream, a new ice cream cart being stationed in front of The General Greene beginning this week.
The ice cream will be served from a hand-built Greene Ice Cream Cart and is “Philadelphia style,” which uses no eggs and no preservatives, gums, or stabilizers (no Cheez Whiz, don’t worry). A daily Twitter update of flavors can be found at twitter.com/GreeneIceCream.com, but expect the roster to include Burnt Honey Vanilla, Chocolate Banana Peanut, Matcha Pistachio Chip, Coffee Road, Salted Caramel Pretzel, Cinnamon Caramel, Salted Hazelnut Gianduja, Coffee Banana Chip, Butterscotch, Bourbon Raisin, The Elvis and Brown Butter Pecan. Opening frozen yogurt flavors include Mango, Blackberry Frozen Yogurt, Strawberry Rhubarb Frozen Yogurt, Raspberry Rosewater Frozen Yogurt, Lemon Vanilla Frozen Yogurt. Pricing: Mini-cones ($1 scoop) - $2, Standard in a wafer or sugar cone, $3, with each additional scoop going for $1.50.
The cart, which will be located at 229 Dekalb Avenue, corner of Clemont, 718-222-1510, will be “open” as follows:
Monday – Thursday: 3PM-11PM
Friday – Sunday: Noon – midnight
ENJOY!
