Trick or Treat with Bette Midler and Alice Waters: A Benefit for the New York Restoration Project

This Halloween, strut your costume at the annual Hulaween benefit for Bette Midler’s New York Restoration Project on Friday, October 31, at the Waldorf Astoria in Manhattan. Bette Midler will be honoring Alice Waters of Berkeley’s Chez Panisse for her advocacy in an alternative and sustainable food system. On stage will be comedian Kathy Griffin giving you her “D List” stand-up with Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine performing their favorite party songs. And who better to walk the crowd and pick out the costume winners than American designer Michael Kors?

Of course this wouldn’t be a party without an equally star-studded celebrity team manning the stoves—April Bloomfield (The Spotted Pig), David Chang (Momofuku Noodle Bar), Tom Colicchio (Craft), and Andrew Zimmerman (“Bizarre Foods,” The Travel Channel). The special tasting menu is top secret, according to officials, but is expected to be nothing less than fabulous.

The cocktail reception begins at 6:30pm and dinner begins at 7:30pm. The Buds Junior Committee After Party (in the Astor Room) begins at 10:30pm. Ticket prices range between $150 (for After Party only) and $6,300 (for dinner, show, and after-party). Tickets for entire tables may be purchased as well (ranging between $10,000-$63,000).
